Overview
KanexPro video wall controllers allow a single HDMI or USB-C source to be distributed and tiled across multiple displays simultaneously. This guide covers deployment using the VW-SP1X44K, VW-HDUSBC1X4, and MMX-4X4VW.
Typical Use Cases
- Digital signage walls in lobbies, retail, or command centers
- Presentation walls in boardrooms or auditoriums
- Command and control display arrays
- Retail product showcase walls
VW-SP1X44K — Simple 1×4 Wall
- Connect the HDMI source to the HDMI IN port.
- Connect each of the 4 HDMI outputs to a display.
- Mount displays in the desired layout (1×4 horizontal, 2×2, etc.).
- Use the IR remote to select the display mode matching your physical layout.
- Adjust bezel correction using the remote to account for display bezel width.
Supported layouts: 2×2, 1×2, 1×3, 1×4, 1×1 (fullscreen clone), and extended configurations up to 9 displays.
VW-HDUSBC1X4 — USB-C + 8 Display Modes
- Connect HDMI or USB-C source to the input port.
- Connect up to 4 displays via HDMI outputs.
- Use RS-232 or front panel to select from 8 built-in display modes.
- Configure bezel correction and rotation as needed per display.
Display modes include: tiled, mirrored, extended, PiP, and portrait rotation variants.
MMX-4X4VW — Matrix + Video Wall
- Connect up to 4 sources to HDMI inputs.
- Connect up to 4 displays to HDMI outputs.
- Use the web GUI or RS-232 to switch between matrix mode (any input to any output) and video wall mode (one input tiled across all outputs).
- In video wall mode, configure the 2×2 or 4×1 layout and bezel correction.
The MMX-4X4VW provides seamless switching — source transitions are instant with no blackout.
Bezel Correction
All three controllers support bezel correction. Measure the physical bezel width of your displays in millimeters and enter the value via RS-232 command or GUI. This adjusts the image crop behind each bezel so the content appears seamless across panels.
Best Practices
- Use identical display models for consistent brightness, color, and bezel width
- Label output cables during installation to match physical display positions
- Use high-speed HDMI cables; limit runs to 5m for 4K60 without extenders
- Power on the controller before the displays to ensure proper EDID handshake
