Product Guide: Flex Cards

Overview

FLEX cards are the modular I/O building blocks of the FLEX Matrix system. Input cards accept HDMI sources; output cards deliver video to displays either directly via HDMI or remotely via CATx. Cards are hot-swappable between chassis generations and can be added at any time to expand capacity.

FLEX-HDMI8IN — 8-Port HDMI Input Card

Each FLEX-HDMI8IN card provides 8 HDMI 2.0 inputs for the matrix. Install one card per 8 sources.

  • Signal: HDMI 2.0, 18Gbps, 4K60 4:4:4
  • HDR: HDR10, HLG pass-through
  • HDCP: 2.2 and 1.4
  • EDID: Per-port EDID management (Auto, Fixed, Custom)
  • Audio: HDMI embedded audio pass-through (PCM, Dolby, DTS)

FLEX-HDMI12OUT — 12-Port HDMI Output Card

Each FLEX-HDMI12OUT card provides 12 HDMI 2.0 outputs with per-port independent scaling, CEC, and HDCP. Connect directly to nearby displays.

  • Signal: HDMI 2.0, 18Gbps, 4K60 4:4:4
  • Per-port scaling: Independent resolution per output (4K, 1080p, 720p, custom)
  • CEC: Per-port CEC power and input control
  • HDCP: 2.2 and 1.4
  • HDR: HDR10, HLG output

FLEX-CAT12OUT — 12-Port CATx Output Card

Each FLEX-CAT12OUT card provides 12 CATx outputs for distributing video up to 100m via CAT6a to FLEX-CATRX receivers. Includes Power over CATx (PoC) to power receivers without local power supplies.

  • Signal: HDBaseT, 4K60, HDR, HDCP 2.2
  • PoC: Powers FLEX-CATRX receiver over the same CAT6a cable
  • Cable: CAT6a recommended; CAT5e for 1080p shorter runs
  • Distance: Up to 100m at 4K60 over CAT6a
  • Per-port scaling: Independent output resolution per port

FLEX-CATRX — HDBaseT CAT Receiver

A compact receiver installed at each display location served by a FLEX-CAT12OUT port. Receives video over CAT6a and outputs HDMI to the display. Powered by PoC from the output card.

  • Input: RJ45 (CAT6a, HDBaseT)
  • Output: HDMI 2.0, 4K60 4:4:4
  • Power: PoC (no local power adapter required)
  • LEDs: Power, link, signal status
  • Mounting: Compact form factor — surface mount or display-back mount

Card Compatibility

All FLEX cards are compatible with all FLEX chassis SKUs. Cards cannot be used in non-FLEX chassis. FLEX input cards install only in input slots; output cards in output slots.
