Overview
The KanexPro Flex Matrix is purpose-built for sports bars, casinos, command centers, stadiums, and large-venue AV installations where many sources must reach many displays simultaneously — with the flexibility to switch, tile, and wall any combination on demand.
Sports Bar Deployment
Recommended SKU
FLEX-MF16X20 — 16 sources to 20 screens. Subtitled “The Sports Bar Matrix” — designed specifically for this use case.
Typical Setup
- Sources (16): Satellite/cable receivers, streaming boxes, sports package decoders, POS system, promotional content player, camera feeds.
- Displays (20): Bar-mounted TVs, back bar displays, patio screens, window-facing displays.
- Card configuration: 2× FLEX-HDMI8IN (16 inputs) + mixed FLEX-HDMI12OUT and FLEX-CAT12OUT (20 outputs).
- CATx outputs: Use FLEX-CAT12OUT + FLEX-CATRX for displays that are far from the AV rack — single CAT6a cable replaces long HDMI runs, PoC powers the receiver.
Key Capabilities
- Zone routing: Route any of the 16 sports channels to any TV independently — different games on different screens simultaneously.
- Video wall: Combine 4, 6, or more adjacent screens into a video wall for big games or promotional content.
- Quad view: Display 4 different feeds on one screen for sports monitoring or command center-style displays.
- Instant switching: No blackout during source changes — seamless for live sports environments.
- CEC management: Auto power on/off all displays on a schedule or via control system command.
Control Integration
Use a touch panel or tablet running the web GUI for staff-operated routing. Integrate with Crestron or AMX for fully automated zone control, scheduled presets, and lighting tie-ins.
Large Venue / Command Center Deployment
Recommended SKUs
- FLEX-MF24X36 — 24 in, 36 out. Large venue, multi-zone.
- FLEX-MF24X60 — 24 in, 60 out. Maximum output for stadium or command center walls.
Typical Setup
- Sources (24): Camera feeds, satellite channels, PC workstations, data visualization systems, emergency broadcast.
- Displays (36–60): Multi-panel video wall, individual operator monitors, public-facing displays, scoreboard feeds.
- Card configuration: 3× FLEX-HDMI8IN (24 inputs) + combination of FLEX-HDMI12OUT and FLEX-CAT12OUT cards.
Advanced Use Cases
- Segmented video walls: Divide the 60 outputs into multiple independent video wall zones — e.g., a 4×4 main wall, a 2×4 secondary wall, and individual operator screens, all managed from one chassis.
- Emergency override: Via control system or REST API, instantly route emergency content to all outputs simultaneously.
- Per-output scaling: Each output independently scaled to its display’s native resolution — supports mixed display sizes and resolutions across the same system.
- Preset recall: Save routing presets for different events (game day, concert, conference) and recall instantly.
Cabling Strategy
- Use HDMI output cards for displays within 5m of the rack.
- Use CATx output cards + FLEX-CATRX receivers for all remote displays — single CAT6a cable up to 70m, PoC eliminates receiver power supply.
- Label all output ports and receiver locations during installation for fast troubleshooting.
